Over time the finish on your wood items may start to look dull or your cutting board may look dry. When that happens, all you need is a little of our home-made board butter. Just apply some wax on the wood with a clean cloth or paper towel and watch it come back to life. The wax fills in those tiny little scratches in the finish and replaces the oils in the wood. 



Time comes to get us all, and wood is no exception. The big three dangers to wood are bugs, water, and drying out. We don‘t need to go into bugs, and the simple rule is don‘t leave wood items sitting in water. Drying out is the danger nobody thinks about. As time goes by, moisture continues to evaporate from wood. This causes the wood to shrink, and the connections in the fibers to start breaking down.



The best way to hold off this damage is to artificially reintroduce moisture into the wood. Water evaporates too quickly to be of any use. Oils are the best, but can leave everything feeling a little slimy. Our board butter is a mixture of medical-grade mineral oil and 100% natural beeswax. This gets the oil into the wood and provides a pleasant to touch finish.
